The Biden administration speaks of climate as an existential threat; it’s time that they act like it, by stopping new fossil fuel projects and banning fracking everywhere.
A sobering report from the International Energy Agency recommends world leaders to immediately halt new fossil fuel projects in order to contain global temperature increases.
Food & Water Watch Policy Director Mitch Jones released the following statement:
“Stopping fracking and all new fossil fuel development is the most obvious and effective course to confront the climate crisis. This is not a new analysis of the problem, but it is revealing that this message is coming from an international agency that has not staked out these kinds of positions before. That is a testament to both the power of the international climate movement and the urgency of the crisis we face. The Biden administration speaks of climate as an existential threat; it’s time that they act like it, by stopping new fossil fuel projects and banning fracking everywhere.”
