Factory farming impacts our communities, our family-scale farms, and our planet. And Food & Water Watch’s recently released map shows it’s only getting worse.
Factory farms are raising more animals than ever before, with _over 1.7 billion confined animals_ across the country. Our recent analysis of the 2022 Census of Agriculture found dramatic changes in our nation’s factory farming, including _ninety seven million more animals_ living on factory farms – a six percent increase from five years ago and a _49 percent increase from 20 years ago_.
That means even larger factory farms as the industry continues to consolidate, while family-scale farms are collapsing and our water is being contaminated.
**Join us for a webinar to learn about our new research and interactive factory farm map that paint a comprehensive picture of factory farming in America.** Based on the USDA 2022 Census of Agriculture, this resource includes new density rankings that reveal the extreme concentration of factory farms — and their waste — in communities across the country, endangering clean water and public health.
You’ll hear from our research team about their findings. You’ll hear from our organizers in New Mexico, Oregon, and Iowa about the impact factory farming has on their states. And we’ll share ways you can take action to build a better food system for all.
Whether you live in one of these states or somewhere else that is impacted by factory farms, this webinar is a great way to learn more about the issue, see how to use the new interactive map, and find ways to jump into action.
