NJ: March and Rally for Clean Air and Climate Justice

Published Jun 1, 2022

**Food & Water Watch is working with Empower New Jersey and our partners across the state to organize our biggest climate action of the year — and we need you with us!**

On June 23rd we will unite and mobilize our communities to the State House in Trenton, where we’ll march, rally, lobby, and hold our elected officials accountable to protecting clean air and climate justice for all!

### Action schedule:

– **10:30am:** Meet on the steps of the Patriots Theatre at the War Memorial, 200 Barrack St, Trenton.
– **11:00am:** We’ll march with our art, props, signs and banners approximately a half mile to the Statehouse Annex, where we’ll hold a rally with speakers, chants, art and music.
– **12:30pm:** Rally concludes, and those interested in confronting elected officials will join us inside the Statehouse for lobbying.

**We are organizing carpools and buses from various locations throughout the state. After you RSVP, someone on our team will follow up with you to coordinate transportation needs.**

*More about the March for Clean Air and Climate Justice:*

**Our COVID policy:** Please wear a mask to this event. See our Food & Water Watch Healthy Events Policy: https://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/healthy-events-policy.

**Our demands:** If Governor Murphy and our State legislators are serious about their climate and environmental justice commitments to move New Jersey off fossil fuels, they must:

1. Stop the seven fossil fuel projects currently proposed or moving forward in NJ
2. Implement strong regulations to cut economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030
3. Reject all false solutions to the climate crisis such as “Renewable Natural Gas”
