A year has passed since the devastating derailment of Norfolk Southern’s train in East Palestine, Ohio, which causing a massive toxic contamination of the community and workers. Residents and workers are not only getting sicker, but in many cases their healthcare is running out. For some, the costs for live-saving healthcare is in the thousands of dollars.

The labor movement recently launched the Justice for East Palestine campaign to demand universal healthcare for the victims of this derailment. On Saturday, March 23rd, Food & Water Watch will join community members and labor allies for a [rally and national conference in East Palestine](https://www.mobilize.us/fww/event/613423/).

**The Lee County Labor Chapter is sponsoring a bus to the action from Keokuk, Iowa.** The bus will leave from the Keokuk Labor Temple at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and will arrive in East Palestine, Ohio at noon on Saturday. The bus will leave East Palestine following the end of the conference and return to Keokuk on Sunday morning.
