Laura Shindell is a New York Organizer for Food & Water Watch. Based in Brooklyn, she works with New Yorkers to fight the development of fracking infrastructure throughout the state, and supports Food & Water Watch’s federal campaign to save the EPA. Prior to joining the New York team, she worked on Food & Water Watch’s successful campaign to ban fracking in Maryland. She has experience organizing for electoral campaigns, and also spent 4 years leading canvass efforts for Citizens Campaign for the Environment to protect Long Island Sound and public health in Connecticut. While there, she celebrated many victories including banning plastic microbeads from personal care products, restricting use of neonicotinoids, and passing a moratorium on the disposal of fracking waste in CT.
