Last night, California voters passed the Election Rigging Response Act (Proposition 50) – the state’s response to Trump’s Texas powergrab.

Food & Water Watch California Director Nicole Ghio released the following statement:

“Californians made it clear that we will not stand by while Trump attempts to consolidate power and we will continue to fight in the courts, in Congress, and at the ballot to protect our communities, environment, and democracy. By passing this ballot measure, Californians effectively countered Trump’s election rigging efforts that started in Texas and made it clear that we’ll continue to stand strong for free, fair, and balanced federal elections. Californians rejected Trump’s authoritarianism, and we’ll continue to resist his cruel efforts to roll back our environmental protections and the food security benefits that millions of people rely on.”
