Over the weekend, the New Mexico Supreme Court granted a temporary pause on an air permit hearing for the plan to power the hyperscale AI Project Jupiter data center. 

Food & Water Watch Rural Organizing Manager Alexa Reynaud released the following statement: 

“Project Jupiter is already one of the most notorious data center proposals in the country and it must be halted. When we flew over the facility earlier this year, we noted that even in its building phase, it is already a sprawling mess that is far too close to communities already experiencing pollution and poor air quality. Project Jupiter must not be allowed to move forward in any form and New Mexico must pass a moratorium on all of these data center proposals.”
