Food & Water Watch is looking for an Office Administrator to join our Operations team to help support the administrative functions and to protect our food, water, and climate. The Office Administrator will work closely with the CFOO, vendors, and other staff at Food & Water Watch. This position must be based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This position is primarily remote. However, the employee will be expected to go into the office at least once a week and may be required to occasionally report to the office for meetings, training, or other business needs at the employer’s discretion.

About the position:
The Office Administrator will report to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer and will work with all staff to support Food & Water Watch’s work. The Office Administrator will ensure the efficient day to day operations of the office by providing administrative, operational, and customer service support. This position will manage office systems and procedures, coordinate administrative activities, maintain comprehensive records, support staff and leadership, and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on duties relevant to the role.
Salary: $65,000 – $77,000
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area
Responsibilities:
Office Administration
- Monitor inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new materials with attention to compliance with purchasing policy.
- Serve as point of contact on office related needs for multiple office locations.
- Manage DC related requests for maintenance, conference room reservations, building security, office services, and ad hoc tasks.
Administrative Support
- Assist other Operations departments with special projects and select tasks, as needed.
- Assist ED and Managing Directors with scheduling requests, special projects, and tasks.
- Manage all aspects of business travel for staff and organizational partners.
- Assist with all organizational offices’ logistics (i.e., office moves, tax exemptions, etc.).
- Prepare reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, or presentation software.
Finance Support
- Manage purchasing requests and reconciliation of organizational credit card expenses.
- Work closely with the finance team on all administrative invoices, contracts, and Bill approvals.
- Manage new and renewal contract processing in coordination with the finance team.
HR Support
- Partner with HR and CFOO to update and maintain office policies as necessary.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding tasks in relation to the Admin department.
Compliance Support
- Assist with the preparation and organization of documentation for audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, financial, and organizational information.
- Monitor administrative deadlines for quarterly and annual business filings.
Other Duties
- Participate in the annual Thank-a-thon calls.
- Carry out other projects, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or six to eight years of work experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An individual should be able to work in a computerized environment and have adequate knowledge of word processing, email, internet, and spreadsheet software.

Desired but not required skills and experience:
- Experience with Salesforce, Bill, Paycor, or comparable business systems is preferred.
Compensation: $65,000 -$77,000 annually dependent upon experience and location.
