Los Angeles Must Act on Boyle Heights Fire
Published Jun 23, 2026
Los Angeles – Over the last week, a warehouse in Boyle Heights has been on fire – causing Los Angeles to be covered in toxic smoke and putting surrounding communities at risk of serious health harms.
Food & Water Watch Southern California Organizer Noah Ropp released the following statement:
“The city’s lackluster response to this week’s Boyle Heights warehouse fire is a stark reminder of how inaction and a failure to prioritize public health will leave communities paying the price with their health and quality of life. We strongly support the calls from Angelenos for the city to address this disaster in a more robust way that prioritizes the health of affected residents.”
