Dangerous Pro-Polluter Agenda Must be Resisted at All Levels of Government
Washington, D.C. – Today the Trump administration announced that it would scrap regulations enacted in past years that would implement controls on carbon dioxide and mercury pollution from power plants in the future. The plan would leave the nation’s second-largest source of climate pollution — the power sector — free of any federal requirements to address global warming.
In response, Food & Water Watch Executive Director Wenonah Hauter issued the following statement:
“Today’s announcement is further proof that Donald Trump is dead-set on sacrificing the health and wellbeing of current and future generations, all for the sake of boosting corporate profits for some of the country’s worst air and water polluters. Trump’s dangerous agenda must be resisted – in Congress, in statehouses and in communities big and small – so that everyday Americans have a fighting chance of healthy lives on a livable planet.”
