Central to this effort was a years-long campaign to stop a proposed contract between Nestlé and the Fryeburg Water Company. Bottled water companies do not replenish the water they take from communities like Fryeburg, so deals like this threaten surface the water supplies of local residents.
Food & Water Watch took the case to the Supreme Judicial Court; we didn't win there, but we are continuing to do grassroots organizing to defeat corporate power.
