Washington, D.C.—“Today, a minority of the Senate voted down the Udall Amendment, along with a chance to minimize the influence of money in our politics. In defeating the Udall Amendment, these senators chose to side with the Koch Brothers and sent a loud message to American voters that the true voice in politics belongs to those with big coffers.
“So long as corporations and a handful of very wealthy donors are allowed to buy elections, efforts to protect our common resources such as food and water will continue to be at risk. Today’s vote is further evidence that we must continue to organize to pass this amendment and restore some common sense to how we fund political campaigns.
