For Immediate Release
Today, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued its final Environmental Impact Statement about the Williams/Transco Northeast Supply Enhancement Project, which includes 23 miles of pipeline across the New York harbor, past Coney Island and the Rockaways.
Food & Water Watch Northeast Region Director Alex Beauchamp released the following statement:
“Today it became even clearer that the Trump administration is hellbent on rubber stamping the dangerous Williams fracked gas pipeline. It is up to Governor Cuomo to protect New York’s air, water, and livable climate. If the governor’s rhetoric on climate change and standing up to Trump’s pro-polluter environmental agenda means anything at all, he must reject the Williams Pipeline.”
