BRAND NEW: See America’s Factory Farms Mapped Out

You can't understand the enormity of an issue if you can't see it. That's why we've mapped out big picture factory farm data — nationally and in highly active states — so that people can start to see just how big of a problem this is, and why it's crucial we act on it now. Below you'll find several maps using the most recent Census of Agriculture data (2017) to make sense of just how important it is to ban factory farms.

How many factory farms are there in America?
05.12.20

National Maps

Each county is ranked from Extreme to None based on the total number of animals living on factory farms. Factory farms are operations confining 500+ head of beef cattle on feed, 500+ dairy cows, 1,000+ hogs, 100,000+ egg-laying hens or 500,000+ broiler (meat) chickens sold each year. For complete methodology, visit our issue brief, Factory Farm Nation: 2020.
