After the Resistance Address, the Fight’s Just Beginning

Before Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, Food & Water Watch, along with Rosie O'Donnell and advocacy groups resisting Trump’s assault on immigrants, the environment, public health, women, people of color and members of the LGBTQ community, held a powerful event outside the White House. Called “A Resistance Address: Defending American Values in a Time of Moral Crisis,” the rally featured speakers who highlighted how they and their communities have been targeted and harmed by Trump’s disastrous agenda – and how they’re fighting back.
The Resistance Address highlighted how much energy now surrounds a movement for a more inclusive, equitable future—for everyone. But the fight has only started, and we’ll need your help to keep building this movement to stop Trump’s agenda and protect our families and environment. If you’re looking for ways to get involved, here are three quick ways to take action, right now:
- Ask your friends to contact their members of Congress. Even though Trump’s policy agenda is filled with threats to our food, water and environment, he still needs Congress to help him do it.
- Text RESIST to 69866. You can join our mobile action group to stand up against attacks to our right to safe food and clean drinking water. We’ll text you with urgent actions.
- Donate monthly to Food & Water Watch. We’re working every day across the country to stop Trump’s attacks.
After just a month, we know Trump was being dead serious about his terrible campaign promises. But the resistance is just beginning. Last night, we sent a powerful message to Trump and the rest of Congress that we’re here to fight—and with your support, we can win.
