Lena Smith is a New Jersey Organizer for Food & Water Watch. She is responsible for outreach to South Jersey community groups and organizations that work to ban fracking and keep water publicly owned. Prior to joining Food & Water Watch she worked in community development and organizing - creating community control of food, natural resources, housing, safety, and health and human services – in a variety of rural Latin American and U.S. urban communities. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay from 2010 – 2012. Lena earned a B.A. in social work and Spanish from Gordon College and a M.S.W. in social and economic development from Washington University in St. Louis. She can be reached at lsmith(at)fwwatch.org.
