Food & Water Europe is a leading consumer advocacy organization that runs dynamic, cutting edge campaigns challenging the corporate control and abuse of our food and water resources.

We are seeking a Paris representative specialising in agriculture policy, food safety and consumer protection. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with French and EU consumer, food safety, farming and environmental groups and coalitions.
  • Share information and plan joint initiatives with NGOs.
  • Attend relevant meetings and conferences organised by NGOs and government agencies.
  • Monitor agriculture, food safety and consumer protection developments.
  • Communicate the organisation’s positions to government agencies and the media.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Strong familiarity with French and EU food safety, sustainable agriculture and consumer protection issues. Knowledge of NGOs active in these areas. Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in French and English. Ability to communicate in Italian and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in a political discipline.
  • Experience: At least three years of food/agriculture-related advocacy work in France.
  • Terms: Full-time position based in Paris. Salary based on experience. Occasional travel within Europe.
