Campaign Organizer, Fish Program

by Elissar Khalek last modified 2009-06-15 15:38

We are seeking a Campaign Organizer to join our experienced fish program team for one year, with the possibility for extension. The Organizer will specifically work to help ensure seafood safety, related to potential pollution sources, and challenge certain corporate practices as unsafe and irresponsible. This position is ideally based in our Washington, DC office, but may be somewhat flexible in location, as there is likely to be some concentrated work in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as a national campaign.

Food & Water Watch is a nonprofit consumer action organization headquartered in Washington, DC that runs cutting-edge campaigns to help ensure clean water and safe food. We work with various community outreach groups around the world to create an economically and environmentally viable future. We advocate for safe, wholesome food produced in a humane and sustainable manner, and public rather than private control of water resources, including oceans, rivers and groundwater. The Food & Water Watch Fish Program works to promote clean, green, safe seafood for consumers, while helping to protect the environment and support coastal communities. Since 2005, we have won significant victories to protect our food and water. Our work has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post and other major media outlets.
