The Fox administration is trying hard to push forward the water privatization agenda in Mexico. But in a country that has had 20 years of failed neo-liberal policies imposed by national government and the IMF and World Bank, privatization is very unpopular. Communities across the country are organizing to defend their rivers, streams, aquifers and lakes.

As a result of the Mexico privatization agenda, the country is losing more sovereignity. And the French water corporation Suez wants a piece of the cake.
