French company pushes case in World Bank court.
Extensive public protest followed the privatization of this small province’s water utilities. Customers effectively organized and took action against the substandard practices. In an act of civil disobedience, the majority of Tucuman residents refused to pay their water bills. As a result the company withdrew in 1998.
