Intern

As an intern at Food & Water Watch, you’ll enjoy a great working environment and opportunities for advancement and job placement. We are currently seeking interns interested in fighting for safe food, clean water, and healthy oceans. Hours are flexible in a relaxed office environment. Internships are available during any of the following terms:

Spring, Fall: This position may be full- or part-time (~15 hours per week minimum). Spring dates are January-May. Fall term dates are September-December.

Summer: This position is full-time and runs for 10 weeks during May-August. Small stipends may be available for summer interns.

Grassroots Organizing & Advocacy Internship (Los Angeles)

The intern will assist on projects aimed at promoting public water resources and opposing increased privatization of water; improving the safety, sustainability, and fairness of our food system; and fighting factory fish farms while promoting fairer and more sustainable fish production and helping consumers make good seafood choices.

Legal Internship

We are currently seeking a legal intern who will assist the organization’s staff attorney by doing research, writing, and litigation, advocacy, and lobbying support for all of Food & Water Watch’s programs. Responsibilities will be both legal- and policy-oriented work in the fields of marine-resource protection, food safety, as well as water, administrative, and open-government law.

Research Internship, International Program

The international intern will work directly with members of the international team to provide information, analysis and written materials to support Food & Water Watch campaigns.

The research - food program intern will work directly with the food team to challenge factory farms and other industrialized agriculture, and promote local, sustainable food systems.

Fish Policy & Research Internship (Washington DC)

Our Fish Program specifically works to promote clean, green, safe seafood for consumers, while helping to protect the environment and support coastal communities. As a research intern with the fish team, you will be working directly with experienced researchers, organizers, policy experts and lobbyists to research emerging issues and create advocacy materials in support of grassroots campaigns. You will also increase skills to translate complex information into written and online outreach materials and learn methods of investigative research, advocacy writing and strategic thinking.

Grassroots Organizing & Advocacy Internship

We are currently seeking interns to work several of our offices across the country. These include Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, New Jersey, and New York City. Interns will have the benefit of learning critical research, grassroots organizing and advocacy skills from experienced staff. Internships are available in our collegial office environment.

Communications Internship

The Food & Water Watch communications staff is responsible for developing and implementing new and traditional media outreach strategies for national, regional and local issue campaigns. We are accepting applications for a hands-on position that will offer great opportunities for developing skills and experience in public interest issue advocacy.
