Pacific Region
Food & Water Watch is active across the Pacific, working directly with communities and activists to protect our food, water and Pacific Coast fisheries. In California we are working to ban fracking and stop the corporate water grab, and in all of our Pacific Region states, we are organizing to win mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) foods. In Oregon, we are working with a powerful statewide coalition to keep water from the pristine Columbia River Gorge from ending up in Nestlé-owned bottles. We are helping communities fight water pollution from industrial-scale dairies in California’s Central Valley. We are mobilizing activists across California to support federal farm policies that build local economies and safe, healthy, sustainable food systems. We’re building political opposition to GE salmon in order to protect our wild Pacific salmon fisheries and the fishing communities that depend on them. And we are fighting alongside communities to stop corporate takeovers of their municipal water systems, while working to increase public investment in drinking and wastewater systems.
We are eager to work with activists throughout the region so please join us!
Get involved locally to help ban fracking.
