Chef Rocky Barnette and some of our staff from the outreach team will be hitting the road for 11 days of food philosophy.
One of the best traditions of summertime is the road trip. At Food & Water Watch, our version is called the Chef Rocky Road Trip! Tomorrow, Chef Rocky Barnette and some of our staff from the outreach team will be hitting the road for 11 days of food philosophy. They are driving across the country to explore the current state of our food system by visiting a few farms and food festivals, cooking up some delectable recipes from sustainable ingredients, and talking to people about the policies and practices that affect our food choices—namely, the Farm Bill.
Cabbage Hill Farm’s Recirculating Aquaculture System
The Cabbage Hill Farm Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of historic farm animals, aquaponics and the practice of sustainable agriculture techniques.
Alliance for Sustainable Aquaculture (ASA) is a collaborative group of researchers, business owners, non-profit organizations and interested members of the public working to further Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) in the United States through research, education, legislative work and advocacy. We believe that RAS, closed-looped and biosecure aquaculture operations, are the best option to meet our countrys need for a clean, green, sustainable, healthy seafood source to supplement our wild fisheries.

Take Home Chef Rocky- Dallas Edible Eco Underground Dinner
Yum. Your mouth will water when you see what Food & Water Watch’s Chef Rocky helped Edible EcoUnderground winner Hannah King cook up. It’s not only delicious but sustainable.
As corporations try to buy up the ocean and its precious contents, giant fishing trawlers that scrape the seas for fish are creating "an earthquake" amongst fishermen and fisher communities. Hear one fisherman tell the tale of what’s happening to his American way of life.
Food & Water Watch is conducting a recipe contest to coincide with the release of our smart seafood guide! In this video, Food & Water Watch staff get ready for the contest by preparing one of our own recipes.

We’re urging people to buy local this holiday season. Buying local helps reduce global warming, and supports farmers and local economies. We’ve created a fun short film about local foods to entertain you while you’re cooking your holiday dinner.
While we work nationally to create a healthy and safe food system, we can take small steps locally, starting with purchasing local food from farmers and farmers markets. To find a market near you, visit: www.eatwellguide.org
