The Rush to Ethanol: Not All Biofuels Are Created Equal

[ pages] 2008

This report documents the significant shortcomings of relying on corn-based ethanol as a policy panacea to fight global warming or reduce dependence on imported petroleum. Corn-based ethanol adds to the agrochemical burden on the land and water, fails to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and diverts water resources to ethanol refineries. With millions of lives in the balance, now is not the time to divert more corn from forks to fuel tanks.

Qué pasa con la Carne Brasilera

[ pages]

Water Filtration Guide

[4 pages] 2008

The Take Back the Tap campaign encourages consumers to switch from bottled water to the clean, safe and nearly free water that comes from their own taps — for the benefit of their own wallets, their health, their local economies and the environment. The United States has some of the cleanest drinking water in the world. However, many people still prefer to filter their tap water for reasons of flavor or to remove minerals and particulates. That’s why we’ve created this Home Water Filtration Guide — to help you get the most out of your water filter.
