Starbucks Week of Action: June 19th-25th
During Starbucks Week of Action, people in 25 cities across the country flyered outside their local Starbucks! We had a great response from the public, with many speaking out about their concerns with rBGH, whether it was potential breast cancer risk, treatment of cows, or the overuse of antibiotics in animal production. Many Starbucks customers were unpleasantly surprised to find out that the coffee giant uses milk produced with artificial growth hormones and are now part of our effort to get Starbucks to switch to rBGH-free milk. Food & Water Watch thanks everyone who leafleted or stopped to chat with us!
Missed out on Starbucks Week of Action? You can still leaflet! Email food(at)fwwatch.org to get free leaflets to distribute.
Why Starbucks? Starbucks
is the biggest coffee specialty retailer in the world, promotes itself
as socially responsible, and has a huge impact on the market. Yet Starbucks continues to use milk from cows injected with recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST). This artificial hormone harms cows and may pose harm to people.
Please email Starbucks today, asking it to go rBGH-free.
