Other groups that work on recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH)

  • Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility, has led a multi-year campaign in the Northwest that urges consumers to buy rBGH-free products, as well as for dairies and companies to stop using the hormone.
  • Organic Consumers Association has urged companies, including Starbucks, to stop using rBGH in their dairy products. They have an extensive list of news articles related to rBGH.
  • Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition dedicated to making the health care industry ecologically sustainable. They have a position paper opposing rBGH and urging health care providers to only serve rBGH-free dairy products.
  • Vermont PIRG is a state-wide public interest group that campaigns against genetically engineered food in general, and rBGH in particular.
