Shrimp, Key West Pink ("Tortugas")

Food & Water Watch Seafood Guide Smarter Choice Unlike imported shrimp, wild-caught U.S. shrimp is unlikely to contain the drugs and chemicals that are used heavily on many international shrimp farms.  Pink shrimp is found in the Gulf and South Atlantic. Those found off southwest Florida are often known as “Tortugas” or “Key West” pinks. There, the shrimp do not share their habitat with as many other fish as some other shrimp populations do in other locations. For this reason, pink shrimp found off the Florida Keys can result in fewer non-target species being caught than fishing for other shrimp in different areas.
