When I scan my Inbox each day, I single out emails from Food & Water Watch because they keep me up-to-date on back-room shenanigans that affect relevant issues that are of concern to me... like the food I buy in the grocery store! And when they ask me to do something, I do it.

Foodopoly: Beer

Which two companies produce nearly 80 percent of the beer sold in the U.S.? Text BEER to 69866 to find out, then take action to stop the Budweiser/Corona merger: http://fwwat.ch/beeropoly.

If you look around the beer aisle at your local grocery store, it might seem like you have a lot of choices. But, in reality, all those multitudes of beer brands are owned by a handful of international beer companies. This centralization of ownership has led to higher prices and lower selection for consumers, and it’s about to get worse.

Please sign the petition asking Attorney General Eric Holder to stop the Budweiser/Corona Merger: http://fwwat.ch/beeropoly. Check out Wenonah Hauter’s book, Foodopoly, at http://www.foodopoly.org.

Bill Maher on the Truth Behind Prop 37

A message from Bill Maher about California’s Proposition 37.

To learn more about Prop 37 and Food & Water Watch’s campaign to make GE Labeling the Law, and to help raise money to broadcast this public service announcement and others like it far and wide, visit www.voteyes37.org.

Throughout the course of food labeling history, giant processed food companies have claimed that giving consumers basic information about their food would raise the cost of food and guess what? It never has. But that hasn’t stopped the chemical and junk food companies to use this faulty argument to mislead Californians into believing that a label to tell them if their food has been genetically engineered will raise the cost of food. Enough with the scare tactics already. Don’t buy their b.s. Stand up for your right to know what’s in your food and vote yes on Prop 37!
