This week, Maude Barlow, one of the world’s leading water activists and author of the new book Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water, visited Washington, DC to urge Americans to take action for water conservation, water justice, and water democracy. Food & Water Watch sponsored Barlow’s national book tour and hosted an event to discuss some of the issues covered in her book. This week’s podcast includes some highlights from Barlow’s speech, as well as solutions to how the world can survive a global water crisis.

Welcome to Issue 25 of SnackCast. SnackCast is back from vacation, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This week Food & Water Watch challenged students across the country to declare their love for tap water in the I Heart Tap Water video contest — a part of the Take Back the Tap campaign that encourages college students to promote and protect tap water on campuses. Annie Weinberg, an organizer at Food & Water Watch talks about the campaign and the different activities taking place at college campuses right now.
