Grilled with a Side of Creatine?

Filed Under:

And if you thought the idea of giant open ocean fish farms was a bad idea, just wait until you hear what they are planning on feeding these fishies.

CreatineYes, that’s right. Creatine- the performance enhancing supplement used by athletes to increase muscle mass and endurance.

Researchers from the University of Missouri have been experimenting with the supplement in an effort to determine if it will increase the stamina of certain fish species. One researcher speculated that supplementing traditional feed with a dose of creatine may help fish withstand greater currents during open ocean fish farming.

We say, if these fish need creatine in order to survive life in these crowded deep-sea cages, than perhaps we need to re-evaluate the feasibility of industrial fish farming.

Unless, of course, you want to feed creatine to your family along with your fish dinner.
