Renée Maas is the Southern Region Organizer working with communities in the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama from Food & Water Watch’s North Carolina office. Before moving to North Carolina, Renée established Food & Water Watch’s Los Angeles office in 2008. Renée has successfully worked with farmers, fishing communities, social justice and environmental organizations and concerned citizens to stand up for their rights to safe food and clean water. Her passion for protecting our essential resources stems from her youth when she showed sheep and judged livestock through 4-H. She has a master’s degree in public policy with an emphasis in water resource management and a minor in sustainable agriculture from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
