Program and Administrative Assistant
The Program and Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of activities at Food & Water Watch including assisting with meetings and periodic special events, making travel arrangements, performing financial and member data entry, handling member correspondence, staffing the reception station, and other tasks to support organizational operations.

General Responsibilities:
The Program and Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of activities at Food & Water Watch including assisting with meetings and periodic special events, making travel arrangements, performing financial and member data entry, handling member correspondence, staffing the reception station, and other tasks to support organizational operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Manage monthly giving program.
• Assist with organizing interns.
• Organize volunteer night.
• Staff reception station to support security of the office and assist visitors.
• Answer the organization’s central incoming phone line and route calls to appropriate extension.
• Distribute incoming mail, forward mail to off-site locations, receive and route deliveries.
• Coordinate conference room availability and maintain event and meeting calendar.
• Assist with organizing email communications with supporters.
• Make travel arrangements for board and staff.
• Enter financial and program data into appropriate databases.
• Execute and mail donor acknowledgments and other member correspondence.
• Assist operations staff with administrative support functions.
• Assist with special event arrangements and logistics.
• Assist with member inquiries.
• Assist with scheduling interviews.
• Maintain orderliness of copy/supply room.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
- College degree required.
Experience
- One to two years experience in a non-profit setting a plus.
- Track record for reliability and timeliness.
Skills and Abilities
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Pleasant, clear telephone manner.
- Detail oriented.
- Highly organized, with capacity to juggle multiple requests, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
- Flexible work attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Interest in social justice and environmental issues a plus.
